Kubrick Group provides innovative consultancy services, training consultants in next-generation technologies such as data, AI, and cloud. As demand for these skills surged globally, Kubrick Group needed to scale their model by upgrading their operational platforms. Their existing systems were not flexible or robust enough to support their ambitious growth plans, and as such they required a comprehensive digital transformation.
Client’s Challenge
The primary challenge for Kubrick Group was the need to rescale their business model to meet increasing global demand for next-generation technology skills. Their existing platforms could not support the required growth, and the rigidity of these systems hindered their ability to adapt and refine their business processes.
To overcome this, Kubrick Group embarked on a digital transformation program, selecting Salesforce Sales Cloud as their new CRM, along with additional applications for Professional Service Automation and Financial Management System developed by Certinia.
Our Solution
BIRD Consulting was brought in to manage the critical task of migrating data from Kubrick Group’s legacy systems to the new platform. This complex project involved transferring active and historical data, and restructuring it to fit the new business model.
BIRD Consulting developed a complete solution, transforming and preparing data for migration from Zoho CRM to Salesforce, ensuring that the data aligned with Kubrick’s refined operational procedures.
Implementation
The data migration solution was developed using BIRD Consulting’s proprietary methodology, covering the entire process from initial data analysis to final deployment. The solution leveraged Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), to facilitate the data migration.
Data was extracted from Zoho CRM, transformed, and loaded into Salesforce, ensuring that all data, both standard (e.g., Accounts, Contacts) and custom (e.g., Projects, Resource Requests), was accurately migrated.
Despite the complexities — including the need to match data with the future business model and dealing with a moving target as Kubrick continued to develop new processes during the migration — the BIRD team successfully completed the project. The solution allowed for multiple UAT dry-runs, which accelerated the deployment process and ensured a smooth transition to the new system.
Outcomes and Benefits
The data migration was completed within a 14-hour window, with 100% of migrated users able to seamlessly log in and use the new system. This success was achieved despite the complexity of transforming data to fit the new business model.
The automated migration process significantly reduced manual work and provided Kubrick Group with a clearer, more efficient system.
